Another wonderful dance break. Ian and Penny make all dancers very welcome and feel relaxed in a lovely hotel. In the morning the workshops are fun with expert tuition, and in the evening a nice dinner followed by a wide range of dances. can't wait to return next year.

This was our 2nd dance break with Ian and Penny. Thoroughly enjoyed it, excellent company, good food and we will definitely be booking again.

This was our first dance break with Ian and Penny and we enjoyed it very much. The standard of teaching was high and Ian and Penny go to considerable lengths to ensure that everyone is coping with new steps etc, but also that no-one is feeling left out in any way. We were impressed too with the Abbey Hotel - polite and friendly staff, good service in the restaurant, clean rooms, and good food (following the menus created by Penny). In all a wonderful weekend which we hope to do again soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, the hotel the food was excellent, we enjoyed the workshops, the only disappointment was that the dance floor was sometimes too busy for our liking, but having said that we have booked to do another break in May. Ian & Penny were great hosts, and were very good teachers.

Ian and Penny are marvellous hosts and genuinely lovely people. Their dance workshops are well paced and the steps may be easily incorporated into your own routines. The evening dances are pure joy. I would recommend the dance breaks to everyone.

Tango and Tinsel 2024 was our first break, which was fantastic, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve all in one weekend! Lots of games, dancing and fun! So much so, we decided to book for a sequence break with 'Dance Classes with Ian & Penny'. We learned 8 new dances, great tuition and lots of practice and lots of fun. New friends made. Have now booked the 60s party break for November 2026. 🕺🏻💃🏼🥳🎉

We attended the August 2024 dance break with Ian and Penny and really enjoyed it from start to finish. Ian and Penny were fantastic hosts and their attention to detail was second to none. The whole weekend was great and we met new people who will stay our friends for a long time to come. We really enjoyed the break from start to finish, it was suburb, and Penny and Ian got it 100% right.

The whole weekend was wonderful, we enjoyed Christmas Day and New Years Eve. Ian and Penny were brilliant, their planning and organisation was fantastic, what friendly and thoughtful hosts. We are recommending their Tango and Tinsel to all our friends.

Difficult to pick a favourite bit, the dancing was great, the lessons delivered very well, and the other guests were always friendly and ready to help out with extra tips to improve our dancing. Ian & Penny were always friendly and helpful, and as teachers they are brilliant. It was a really enjoyable weekend and we've booked again for next year.

Every evening is a wonderful celebration.  We have been going to Ian & Penny's dance breaks since they started. Every break we go to we think it will be impossible to improve on their previous dance break, but they always surpass expectations. Every dance break with Ian and Penny is absolutely magical from beginning to end, they are amazing hosts and attend to every detail to ensure everyone has a wonderful time. Ian and Penny's dance breaks are the highlight of our year and would certainly recommend them to all dancers of every ability .

What we liked best is hard to say as we enjoyed every aspect of the dance break. Penny & Ian were perfect hosts, friendly, approachable, and well organised. Attention to detail is obviously very important to them and would highly recommended coming to one of their breaks. Certainly the best dance break we have been on.

The Gala Night was our favourite, it was such fun from the rocket balloon at dinner to the wonderful dancing all evening. The whole break was fabulous as usual with Ian and Penny's attention to detail superb. We would definitely attend again.

We really enjoyed the relaxed social atmosphere during the whole weekend, the new dances Penny & Ian taught us was a nice bonus. Penny & Ian were very caring hosts making sure all our needs were catered for and we would thoroughly recommend their dance breaks. Penny and Ian are excellent hosts, also the hotel is professionally managed with a well run restaurant that has a varied menu catering for dietary requirements.

I have attended many of Ian and Penny’s dance breaks and highly recommend each and every one.  It is hard to choose one part of the break as being the best as the whole weekend is very enjoyable. The attention to detail make workshops and evening dinner dances perfect in every way.

This was the first of Penny and Ian's dance breaks we have been to and we found it to be excellent in every way. The hotel was lovely, the food wonderful, and the dancing fantastic with a nice combination of ballroom and sequence. Every thing was first class and everybody was friendly. We will certainly booking again.

The evening dances were a perfect 50/50 balance of Sequence and Ballroom.

All of it! Ian & Penny’s attention to detail was exceptional; dance shoe bags, sweets, individual photos, evening meal choices. Their teaching style suits us very well and the choice of dances and music was great. We enjoyed the fun filled gala evening. Couldn’t have been better!

My wife and I have been attending Ian and Penny’s Dance Weekends for a number of years.

We really enjoy meeting familiar friends as well as new faces, all with a common interest in ballroom, latin and sequence dancing.

Ian & Penny are always fantastic hosts, making the weekend fun and enjoyable. They have a very clear, down-to-earth style as dance instructors which enables new dance routines to be learnt easily, irrespective of your ability.

I would highly recommend a ‘Dance Break with Ian & Penny.

We attended the August 2023 Black and White summer ball at the Abbey Hotel, Great Malvern.
We chose this dance break as it coincided perfectly with the dates that we were holidaying in the UK.

We knew absolutely nobody else that attended, but by the end of the weekend had made new friends who we hope to see again at future dances.

Ian & Penny were perfect hosts. Their attention to detail really stood out. From the moment we arrived up until we checked out they made us very welcome.

We would absolutely recommend Ian and Penny to dancers at any level. Their teaching skills were superb. We came away knowing a new sequence dance and a new jive routine that we loved learning in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
It’s the little things that they do that make a huge difference to the whole experience.

We attended the very first dance break Ian and Penny put on and we were a bit unsure how it would be because we did not know anyone else. However, there was no need to worry as the atmosphere created by Ian and Penny is fabulous and we made some new friends.

Our favourite part was the fun Ian and Penny bring to learning new dances, they are so patient with everyone and the varying abilities in the room.

Ian and Penny have that 'X Factor' as hosts that you can't explain, it just works. Their friendly personalities and love for each other shine through and they make you feel so welcome and part of the group.

We would thoroughly recommend Ian and Penny Dance Breaks to any dancers. We are sequence dancers and always struggled when attending ballroom events, but Ian and Penny helped us with floor craft and how to get up and join in starting with a simple routine, it changed our dancing life. Thank you Ian and Penny and hopefully we will join you again soon on another dance break.

Summer and Christmas

It's so lovely to see old and new friends in the dance breaks and especially to continue our dance journey with Penny and Ian.

We started dancing on a cruise ship with Penny and Ian. It is only due to their fun teaching and endless patience that we carried on dancing when we got home.

Penny and Ian's Dance weekends are great fun with well taught dance workshops that get everyone on the floor. They go the extra mile with special little touches that make their weekends unique. The Christmas dance was really good fun and we are already booked to go again in Summer and Xmas 2020.

We attended our first weekend in August 2018 as complete beginners and had such a good time that we've been to everyone since, simply the best way to spend a weekend.

The dancing has to be our favourite part and don't worry about knowing every dance as either Ian and Penny will show you or the other dancers are more than happy to help.

Absolutely excellent hosts very welcoming, friendly, nothing is to much trouble, the attention to detail is first rate.

Since we arrived home from our Tango and Tinsel weekend we have been buzzing with the joy of the many delights that you provided for us to celebrate "Christmas and New Year".

We were astounded at your attention to detail and how well you looked after all of us, both collectively and individually. It was so much more than we expected and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the weekend.

We have been practicing our Penny Paso since we got home and are confident that we can go public with it this week. Having enjoyed our time in Gt. Malvern so much, we were extremely surprised and absolutely delighted to receive two photographs in the post this weekend. Thank you so very much. This was the icing on the cake, and yet again demonstrates what we consider to be your total attention to detail.
